He was charged in April with posting obscene pictures and videos of underage boys to an online messaging platform.

On Thursday, Blomme appeared by video before Dane County Judge Valerie Bailey-Rihn. He declined to request a preliminary hearing and remained silent in the face of the accusations.

Blomme was elected to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in April 2020. The Wisconsin Supreme Court ordered that he be unable to take office starting on March 17 and continuing until further notice.

The press release notes that Blomme “was a judge with the Milwaukee County Children’s Court at the time of the acts charged in the indictment.”

According to Timothy M. O’Shea, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, “the Dane County man is charged in an indictment issued today by a federal grand jury sitting in Madison.”

Blomme stated in a statement that he is making every effort to give Milwaukee County “an alternative to the conservative judge Walker nominated who is now seated in Branch 5.”
Before he was accused of having child pornography, Blomme donated to the campaigns of various Democrats and court candidates. These politicians are now returning his money.

Sen. Tammy Baldwin received the Milwaukee County Circuit Judge’s greatest gift to date in 2018. According to her campaign, she intends to donate the $1,000 he gave her to charitable causes.
