TikTok plans to establish warehouses.

According to many job postings on TikTok’s employment site and LinkedIn profile, the company appears to be aiming to establish a new logistics and warehouse network in the United States to assist its e-commerce initiatives.

TikTok, like other social networks, has ventured into e-commerce to increase income potential. TikTok presently offers a TikTok Shop shopping option in some areas, including the United Kingdom and Indonesia, allowing artists and merchants to sell things over the site. It has also collaborated with Shopify to make shopping possible on the site.

TikTok appears to want to go even farther with the latest job listings, which were first published by Axios. TikTok may be aiming to give logistical support to establish what it terms“a brand new and better e-commerce experience.”rather than merely functioning as a platform to reach customers “By providing warehousing, delivery, and customer service returns, our mission is to help sellers improve their operational capability and efficiency, provide buyers a satisfying shopping experience and ensure fast and sustainable growth of TikTok Shop, According to the company in a job posting.

In one job posting, the organization states that it is searching for someone to  “build the new fulfillment service from scratch” and be “responsible for the business development of fulfillment service of TikTok e-commerce logistics in US.”

Many of the positions are headquartered in Seattle, which also serves as Amazon’s initial corporate headquarters. Amazon’s massive logistics and delivery network transformed it into a central tool for multiple merchants, allowing it to provide a diverse choice of items with rapid delivery.

A tiktok representative said “the company is focused on providing a valuable shopping experience in countries where TikTok Shop is currently offered across Southeast Asia and the UK, which includes providing merchants with a range of product features and delivery options.”
