During Thursday’s meeting, the House select committee probing the January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack will decide on whether to summon former President Donald Trump, according to various sources.
Democratic Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, who leads the committee, revealed at the start of the hearing that the committee had moved Thursday’s public hearing to a business meeting, which is a technical distinction but means the committee can vote on investigative activities.
The session on Thursday is scheduled to be the final one before the midterm elections, NBC confirmed.
